Notes for an Art School was originally commissioned by Manifesta 6, which was to take place in Cyprus, but was cancelled due to political tensions. Dexter Sinister had already produced and distributed the book at a conference organised by Manifesta. After the official book was cancelled together with the event, they produced a bootleg version with a new cover, made available through Lulu, but were forced to remove it with a threat of litigation. This is a third version produced specifically for the Piracy Collection with yet another new cover, a snapshot of Dexter Sinister's Nicosia office, with graffiti-enhanced Dexter Sinister logo.
