The author-artists have reprinted a series of gravure illustrations for Sade’s Justine as a way of examining changes both to socio-political attitudes and the mechanical means of reproduction. An image from the Holocaust has been added, representing the artists’ hypothesis that the original gravures' power to provoke has been superseded. |
